Klein Venedig

A romantic place in Wolfenbüttel's old town. At the end of the 16th century, Dutch master builders constructed a system of canals in Wolfenbüttel to make the marshy ground arable. Little Venice is a remnant of the canals. The bridge with its lush floral decorations is a popular photo motif, especially in summer.

The yellow house directly to the right of the bridge is home to the Vita-Villa, a lively cultural venue that regularly hosts exhibitions and concerts. If the door is open, you can enter.

The sound of the water from the neighboring Schünemann'sche Mühle mill, now home to the Federal Academy for Cultural Education and formerly one of the city's many mills, is unmistakable.
