The Kunstverein Wolfenbüttel was founded in 1975 to support young, up-and-coming artists. Decades later, exhibitions are still regularly held in the historic rooms of the Prinzenpalais as they always have been. Every year, five to seven exhibitions from the fields of photography, painting, sculpture, graphics, video, installations and performances show a wide range of artistic creation.
In addition to young art from the region, for example by graduates of the HBK Braunschweig, works by international artists are also exhibited here.
The Kunstverein Wolfenbüttel aims to make art accessible to everyone and to ensure that the artist is not an unapproachable being: the exhibitions are complemented by lectures, film screenings, artist talks and guided tours. There are special offers for schoolchildren, such as workshops with artists or museum staff.
