This impressive tour is the result of a dedicated history seminar by the pupils of the Henriette Breymann Comprehensive School in the 2024/2025 senior year. From the initial idea to the meticulous research in renowned institutions such as the Herzog August Library and the State Archives of Lower Saxony to the creation of the captivating audio contributions, this was a comprehensive project that was entirely organized and realized by the students. In Wolfenbüttel, this initiative is received with great gratitude, as it makes it possible to bring the eventful past of the Jewish population to life. The tour invites visitors to experience the stories and heritage of the people who once lived here and enriched the city culturally, and thus actively participate in ensuring that their history is not forgotten.Visitors have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the multifaceted and sometimes tragic history of these historic sites. The tour is more than just a walk through the city; it is a journey into the past that promotes empathy and a better understanding of an important chapter in history." language: "en" type: "SportsActivityLocation" image: "https://dam.destination.one/3132464/ca2ce53c86984534198825180c21bc5b6e4b05c0fd80209322658a528ac7a86a/.jpg" breadcrumb: "Root > Wolfenbüttel - Startseite > Special > Destination.Data Details > [Translate to Englisch:] Tour" --- GPX ShareBookmark Bookmark Jewish life in Wolfenbüttel - audio tour ======================================== - 6.37 km long - Difficulty: easy - Condition: easy - Asphalt - Theme trail - Bicycle - 1:30 h - 6.37 km - 18 m - 10 m - 73 m - 94 m - 21 m - - Start: You can start the tour at the Old Synagogue - Destination: If you are on a bike, it is a good idea to end the tour at the Jewish cemetery for a nice ride through the city Audio tour "Jewish life in Wolfenbüttel" The audio tour "Jewish Life in Wolfenbüttel" offers exciting insights into the history of the Jewish community in this charming town at five carefully selected stops.
